Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store is one of those places you don’t really plan to spend much time in. That is, until you walk through the door and immediately realize you’re not leaving anytime soon. We found this out during our trip to the Twin Cities in May.

Located just outside Jordan, Minnesota, this bright yellow building has become a road-trip landmark for a reason. From the outside, it already feels oversized and a little ridiculous. Inside, that feeling multiplies fast. The store is packed wall-to-wall with candy, and not just the familiar stuff. Yes, you’ll find plenty of classic chocolate bars and nostalgic favorites, but the real fun comes from the sheer variety. Rows of international candy, novelty sweets, seasonal items, and flavors you didn’t know existed stretch in every direction. It’s less like shopping and more like wandering through a sugary scavenger hunt.

What makes the experience work is that the store doesn’t try to rush you. The layout encourages wandering, backtracking, and the occasional “wait, did you see this aisle?” moment. Every turn seems to reveal something new. A flavor you haven’t seen since childhood. A brand you’ve only heard about online. Or a candy that feels more like a dare than a treat.

The scale alone is impressive, but the atmosphere keeps it from feeling overwhelming. Despite the size, the store feels approachable and fun rather than chaotic. It leans into excess without turning it into stress. You’re meant to explore, laugh, and maybe leave with more than you intended (which almost everyone does).

While candy is obviously the main attraction, the store also sells snacks, sodas, and giftable treats, making it an easy stop for road trips or group outings. We indulged in the soda aisle, and each had a different brand of root beer before we left.

Overall Impression

Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store isn’t about efficiency or restraint. It’s about indulgence, curiosity, and the simple joy of walking into a place that unapologetically celebrates excess. Whether you’re stocking up, browsing for fun, or just stretching your legs during a drive, it’s a stop that turns into an experience almost by accident.
